Still Life Drawing

Vocabulary: Contour lines, blind contour drawing, value, three-dimensional space, depth, highlights

Objectives:
*Demonstrate ability to accurately render with graphite pencils what you see including shadows and fabric
*Demonstrate discipline, visual sensitivity, patience, eye-hand coordination and work ethic
*Demonstrate an understanding of value and apply strong contrast and a full spectrum of five or more values within your drawing
*Create a strong composition with a balanced and full use of space
*Drawing should show three-dimensional space on a flat surface

Checklist:

1. Good composition? (balanced, use of space)
2. At least 5 values
3. Direct lighting evident
4. Strong contrast
5. Drew what you see, not what you know
6. The only white on your page is the white fabric and highlights on the objects
